Am Sand Gewürztraminer by Alois Lageder is undoubtedly one of the most representative wines of South Tyrolean territory, of which today the Gewürztraminer grape variety has become almost a symbol of identification. If we talk about Gewürztraminer it is natural to think of the Alpine area in which this variety seems to have found its ideal growing habitat. The vineyards from which the grapes that give life to this Gewürztraminer come from controlled biological-dynamic farming (Demeter certified) and are located on the alluvial fan of Margreid and Termeno, at an altitude of 240-370 meters s.l.m. where the sandy, gravel and limestone soil and the microclimate characterized by extreme temperature changes between night and day, allowing to have healthy and ripe grapes grown under natural conditions, which give each wine unique organoleptic characteristics such intense aromas of exotic fruits with delicate citrus notes. To ensure the quality potential obtained in the vineyard, and the natural characteristics of the product, also the work in the cellar, aims at a winemaking as natural as possible, which allows the wine to have the necessary time to mature. The man's work must be done in harmony with the environment, should not be invasive and should intervene as little as possible and as late as possible in the natural processes. The sustainable management of the entire production process is the real heart of the Alois Lageder philosophy, through which manages to get unique and original wines but who can strongly express the uniqueness of nature in which they grew up.
